A rant about Internets Drama

Ok I’m only going to say this once and then shut mouth, because as they say in my neck of the woods I ain’t got a dog in this fight.  I am sick and tired of seeing bullshit drama everywhere I turn on plurk.  Whether it is so and so copied from someone or someone was clicking on my man, or I love John Smith. I am sick of all of it.  I want to remind you people that Second Life is a freaking game.  Yes I understand that some people make your real life income off of sl and the stuff that you create enhances game play and makes the grid a more beautiful, exciting place.  People may say its not a game because there is no objective, no levels, no way to win.  Well to them I ask 1. Are you sitting in front of a computer?  2. Is it a cartoon? 3. Is name really Jane123 GossipGirl? Get the picture? Its a video game, the objective is to escape from your real world for a few minutes.

If you are getting wound up and fighting and trashing people on the internet, I really think it is time for you to unplug your modem, call a cab, go down to your local bar, and get freakin trashed.  You need to rediscover your real lives.

I am tired of of logging in after a long day at work wondering what friend got pushed away by the crap.  I am tired of trying to figure out who will no longer be around to brighten my day and give me something to smile about.

You see to me SL is a game, but its also a place where I have friends. Sure they are virtual friends who I will never meet in real life, but they each bring something special to the table that makes my real life even more complete.  However with all of the drama and the fighting about relationships, and ways to fight copybotting and so and so said some shit bout my sissy, more and more I find myself not wanting to log in.  I find myself questioning what is the point, if I wanted to deal with this sort of crap I would go to dinner with my dads family.

I am asking everyone to give the Internet fighting a rest. If not for your own sake do it for your friends.  I know I am not the only one who feels this way and you are driving away the people who care about you.  It has come to the point where people dread logging in and seeing what new fights have cropped up. For the love of all that is good in this world, instead of dragging your shit into plurk and tinyurl, go get a virtual beer and settle this stuff like the adults we are all supposed to be. These last few days have left me feeling like I am back in the hallway of my highschool.

End Rant.

Sophia’s challenge

A good friend of mine, Sophia Harlow posted a plurk challenge this morning, wanting us bloggers to post a photo of us in the past, and now.  I rose to the occasion with my severely limited photo skills figuring this was a perfect way to dust the old personal blog off, the poor girl was getting lonely since Avatar Weekly got its start.  Anyway without further rambling, here is a side by side of 2009 Sarra and 2010 Sarra.

sarra then and now

Pale Sarra with all of the tattoos was 2008/2009, Sarra with a little color and cuter ink is late 2009-now. Who looks better, you be the judge! Soph I hope this makes you happy.
