I highly doubt that getting trashed is any better of an activity than talking trash on SL. There are so many more beneficial ways to rediscovering your life. How about going out to dinner with friends, family or as significant other? Going to volunteer in your community? How about doing something significant for humanity instead of yourself? These are just my thoughts on this specific perspective. I have been in Second Life for over a year and I believe that people who become involved in this type of drama almost always bring it on themselves. They complain and whine but in the end, they thrive off the negative energy. This is no different than people who act this way in their real lives. I had one guy nearly knock my avatar flying with his vehicle because he thought I wasn't "real". Another guy invited me to come "dancing" on his private land. I pointed out that I'm married in RL and faithful. He said, "Is okay is only game" I still turned him down. A very close friend was recently treated like dirt and had his name dragged through the virtual mud because certain people took their chosen in-world lifestyles too seriously. He's a kind, genuine person but was forced to retreat from a group as a result. Some of those who enter SL were online gamers before that but others like me joined it after being chat-room regulars. Call it a game if you must but Phillip Rosedale's idea was to create a virtual world where people could create from their imaginations and meet a wide variety of people from around the world in real time. Unfortunately, wherever you have human beings interacting you will get negative stuff happening. I hate drama, too but at least with SL I can teleport away or log off. Sarra I'm so sorry you've had to witness so much unpleasantness and I hope those concerned will realise what effects their behaviour has on others. At the end of the day you have a warm bed to sleep in with a belly full of food and warm clothes on your back, so OMG think how very very lucky and blessed you are then!!! There are so many people in this world that DON'T have those basic things. So why are we fighting over trivial bullshit!! And yes all the rest of stuff in life is trivial....it's just life! get over it and grow up and move on!! If someone pisses you off then ignore them or talk calmly with them about it to find out why and such. Just maybe that person didn't MEAN to offend you and it's all just a misunderstanding. Give peace a chance! *And Soph you need to take care of the stuff that you have to that's cool, it's just upsetting when friends leave and we don't know why or where they went, and when they do come back (as i know you will when your ready) it's sometimes hard to reconnect again.
